Master in training teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language

Currently, Spanish is the second most common language of international communication and the fourth most common spoke language in the world. It is the native language of more than 400 million people that live in more than 20 countries.

In the USA there are more than 30 million Spanish speakers and in Canada, Spanish is the fastest-growing language. Likewise, the boom for Spanish as a second language courses has consistently increased since the 90’s. The incited and represents the importance of training good teaching professionals.

PROFILE AND FIELD OF WORK

  • Teachers of Spanish as a second language in primary or secondary public or private institutions.
  • Teachers of Spanish as a second language for Adult Education.
  • Qualified teachers of related specialties with the intention of working as Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language.


REQUERIMENTS FOR NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS

Academic
For the Masters program, the candidate must hold a university degree or equivalent.
For university specialization and extension courses it is not necessary to hold a university degree. However, and entrance exam is required of candidates.

Linguistics
It is necessary to demonstrate a strong command and academic knowledge of Spanish as a foreign language through completion of a university degree in Spanish speaking countries. Nevertheless, such a degree does not guarantee acceptance, and still require a careful study of the applicant’s qualifications.

In the case that the candidate does not have the aforementioned degree, a sufficient command of the language must be supported by documents such as a superior certification in Spanish as a foreign language from the Cervantes Institute or other similar certification.

Teaching Experience
It is recommended that candidates have at least one year of experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language. If the applicant has no teaching experience, individual cases will be assessed for entry into the program.



ADMISSION

1. Bring the following documents

  • Application form 
  • Socio-Economic Profile
  • 02 color or black and white photos license size.
  • 02 simple copies of ID or of alien registration card.
  • A simple copy of the university degree (for those interested in the master course) 
  • Currículum Vitae (undocumented)

2. Monthly income copy: last pay stub or a receipt of the last three professional fees.

3. The candidate must take an entrance exam to evaluate his academic profile (no cost).

4. All documents must be sent by post to Calle Chimu Capac Nº. 163, Urb. Los Rosales – Surco, Lima Perú; with attention to Departamento Comercial - Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana.

5. The received documents will be evaluated to decide the percent of scholarship to be given (30%, 40% till 50%).

6. At the end of the evaluation, Funiber will notify the applicant by mail of acceptance or denial of the scholarship.
