About the Project

The Universidad de Piura, within the framework of the development of Strategic Plan 2020-2025, is managing the implementation of the Horizon I Project, which proposes the implementation of Banner, an academic management system, provided by the company Ellucian, whose objective is to guarantee a digital change that contributes to improving the University's operations and projecting a more promising future.

Goals

Guarantee the integration of the technological ecosystem, automating the university management processes, eliminating manual transfers of information.
Toast students access to necessary information and campus services, through the use of modern solutions customized to each student's experience.
Promote the standardization of processes, which allow for better cross-disciplinary management in the university.

1. Design and plan the academic offer	Dr. Edilberto Vasquez MBA Eduardo Linares	Present and plan the academic offering that will be offered to students from the different academic programs, making the processes more efficient and improving the interaction with the areas involved.
2. Manage Student Admission	Jerika God Cynthia Gonzalez	Present the management of the admission process with the purpose of admitting students accepted into the institution within Banner.
3. Manage teachers	Mgtr. Mariela Quiroz Dr. Martin Palma	Present and manage teacher information, enabling key objectives required when working with the academic staff to be met.
4. Manage academic programming	Dr. Erick Miñán Mgtr. Cecilia Campana	Present the planning of the course sections that will be offered in a given academic period, and for the courses offered, the definition of schedules, the management of waiting lists and the assignment of teachers, physical spaces and pedagogical and virtual resources.
5. Manage students	Mgtr. Martha Coello Mgtr. Maria Jesus Farfan	Create new student record, maintain student record, and manage attributes and academic holds. Related documents and references.
6. Manage the student's accounts receivable	Mgtr. Blanca Cruz Mgtr. Jesus Castillo	To present a best practices model to be applied to this process, which is enabled to cover the key requirements for generating charges in the student account, as well as for collecting payments, defining rules for their monitoring, control and application. Enabling the institution to export transactions to the accounting system, completing the operation and administration cycle, and providing the necessary information to meet the university's objectives and financial and fiscal obligations.
7. Manage subject registration and enrollment	Eng. Mario Palacios Lic. Milagros Mogollon	Present the model that will be applied in the institution, allowing the management of fees and payments for tuition and then executing the registration of the student's courses during the academic period.
8. Manage teaching and learning	Dr. Osby Garcia Mgtr. Renzo Garcia	Present the model that will be applied in the institution, allowing the execution of academic processes during the period, such as managing class attendance, entering grades and closing the academic period.
9. Manage Student Graduation	Mgtr. Roger Trelles Mgtr. Ana Lucia Marky Marilyn Cruz	Present the management model to process graduation applications, perform a verification of academic achievements, manage degree registration, as well as keep graduate information up to date for the institution's internal statistics.
10. Manage transversal capabilities	Raul Olivares Mgtr. Milagros Seminario	Present the process that will be applied in the institution, allowing compliance with support for Core processes. These capabilities will allow managing people (natural or legal), surveys, physical spaces and events.
