Mg. María Esther Linares
- Maria Esther is an ELT academic adviser holding a Master’s Degree in TEFL from University of Reading, U.K. and the Diploma for Overseas Teachers of English from the Royal Society of Arts, UK. and has got her degree in Education from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH). She has more than 35 years of experience as an EFL teacher and has held various posts in the field including 25 years as a Teacher Trainer and giving lectures and workshops in different academic events in Peru, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. She participated in the 52nd Annual International IATEFL Conference and Exhibition in Brighton – UK presenting the results of a research on Recharging methodological batteries: a Peruvian Project aimed at teacher trainers. This was a joint-project between MINEDU and the British Council Peru Office. Currently, she is an MA TEFL Tutor at Funiber-Universidad de Piura, a parttime teacher at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola and Universidad ESAN and a Speaking Examiner for the University of Cambridge.
Mg. Julio Valladares
- Julio Valladares holds an MA degree in TEFL and a Bachelor´s degree in Education. He has been a teacher of English for more than 30 years. He has worked for Británico, Richmond Publishing, and Camelot as teacher and teacher trainer. He is currently working for Universidad de Piura. He is in charge of the academic area of the language school in Campus Lima, and is also the academic coordinator of the MA in TEFL Programme and of the Teacher Development Unit of the Universidad de Piura-Campus Lima.
Mg. César Orosco
- César Orosco is an English teacher who holds a Bachelor’s degree in TEFL from Universidad Nacional de San Marcos and an MA in TEFL from Universidad de Piura. He also holds Cambridge CPE & Michigan ECPE language proficiency certificates as well as CELTA, TKT CORE & CLIL & Young Learners teaching qualifications, and British Council teacher training qualifications.
- He has been teaching English at different levels for more than 14 years and has given many lectures and workshops around the country on different aspects of ELT methodology and literature on behalf of Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Universidad de Piura & IATEFL and many different publishers. He has also given YLE teaching courses, Cambridge First (FCE) & Cambridge Advanced (CAE) preparation courses in different venues. His main research interests are teacher development, student autonomy and innovative teaching practices.
- Currently he is a Homeroom & Language Arts & Social Studies teacher and Cambridge Exams coordinator at Colegio Alpamayo, an English teacher at Universidad de Piura Campus Lima Language Center, as well as a Macmillan ELT consultant and YLE & Main Suite Cambridge Speaking Examiner & Invigilator.
Mg. Elizabeth Calderón
- Elizabeth has experience in TEFL in Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary schools and Higher Education. She is also a teacher trainer and currently works at Centro de Idiomas, Universidad de Piura. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in education from Universidad de Piura, and a Master’s degree in Research in Higher Education from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. She also has a diploma in Critical Thinking in Language Learning and Teaching Curriculum. Additionally, she has studied courses on methodology at Westminster College and Eckersley School in USA and England.
Mg. Maria Luisa Mu
- Maria Luisa Mu is the Academic Director of Customized Training Services (CTS) and is a certified teacher trainer with ample experience teaching English in Peru and abroad. She has been a private tutor for officers at FAO, OIT, UNESCO and for managers teaching Business English at MOBIL OIL and REPSOL.
- Maria Luisa is an educator who holds a Master in English Language Teaching from the University of Sheffield, England; a Master in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Universidad de Piura and has Post-Graduate Degrees in Educational Management (PUCP), Information Technology (USIL), Curriculum Design for Distance Learning Courses (PUCP), Negotiation and Conflict Resolution(PUCP) and Teacher Training (UPCH).
- She is also an Official International Speaking Examiner from Cambridge ESOL Examinations from and a Free-lance lecturer.
Mg. Leidy Lama
- Leidy Lama holds a Master’s degree in University Teaching, and a Bachelor´s degree in Education and Systems Engineering. She has received a Strategies in Teaching English diploma, along with earning Cambridge and Michigan certifications.
- She has more than 12 years of progressive experience in the teaching field. Her professional history includes positions such as an English professor, and a research coordinator at the School of Translation and Interpretation at Universidad Cesar Vallejo-Piura. Additionally, she has worked for Universidad del Pacífico, Universidad Cayetano Heredia, ICPNA, Universidad de Piura (Campus Piura and Lima) and different schools in Piura. She has been an invigilator, speaking examiner, and the operations supervisor of Cambridge Exams at UDEP. Currently, she is the ICTs team leader of the language center at Universidad de Piura.
- She is an enthusiastic teacher, and has studied courses about methodology in the United States at Westminster College in Utah, and Norwalk Community College in Connecticut. Her area of expertise is in the use of ICT in learning and her area of interest is inclusive education.
