La Sapienza is the first university in Rome and one of the oldest in Europe. It was founded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII.
Over seven centuries, it has earned its reputation as a distinguished center for teaching and research. With nearly 122,000 students, 4,600 teachers and 4,000 administrators, Sapienza is the largest university in Europe. In fact, it is a city within the city. It has 11 faculties, 63 departments and their respective research centers.
And, in September 2018, it was included in the top 100 of the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2018.
