The Autonomous University of Chile (UA) is a private, non-profit institution founded in Temuco on July 31, 1989. Its birth in the region of La Araucanía left a lasting and distinctive mark: the strong commitment to local development and regional, materialized in the provision of new academic alternatives in the regions in which it is located.
According to the Times Higher Education agency, the Autonomous University of Chile is located within the 70 best in Latin America, in the 61-70 range of 166 universities in 13 countries. On the other hand, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) delivered its 2020 report, which places the Autonomous University within the 14 best in Chile and within the 2,000 best universities worldwide.
