The UDC is a public university founded in 1989, it has more than 20,000 students, 1400 professors and 24 centers that offer studies in Health Sciences, Experimental Sciences, Humanities, Social and Legal Sciences, Technologies and Engineering, etc.

It is an international university with a large number of students and teachers who participate in mobility programs, with more than 300 students arriving each year from different countries.

Regarding research, the UDC has three technology centers, an office dedicated to technology transfer and research support, with a very close relationship with the business and industrial world. The UDC is made up of two main campuses, one in the city of A Coruña (A Zapateira, Elvina, Oza and Riazor campuses) and another in the city of Ferrol (Esteiro and Serantes campuses).
