UNIP is a private, non-profit university, with 27 campuses and 65 units, a modern infrastructure with 741 thousand square meters of built area, 174 laboratories in the areas of Architecture and Engineering; 34 Legal Assistance Offices; 6 Gyms, 33 Libraries and 252 Computer Laboratories.

It promotes the updated training of students and their training for a changing society through quality education, technologically advanced and directed towards the future. It has four Institutes divided into Social Sciences and Communication, Health Sciences, Exact Sciences and Technology, Human Sciences. It has more than 50 research groups registered with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development.
