A COLLABORATIVE TRANSMEDIA PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF LOS ANDES – CHILE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This COIL took shape in the design and execution of the Reborn project, a collaborative transmedia project carried out by students of the subjects of Narrative Communication and Storytelling and Digital Communication from Udep and the subject of Narrative Journalism of the Uandes. Its purpose was to tell different stories on various platforms to create a network of truthful and testimonial information about some natural disasters that have occurred in Peru and Chile. In addition, it sought to highlight the heroism of human beings in the face of adversity.

The rapprochement that was experienced between the students was possible thanks to the use of digital resources. Because “digital platforms (…) can function as a space for meeting, dialogue and exchange, promoting user involvement in the content and strengthening community relationships” (Atarama-Rojas & Mönckeberg-Díaz, 2021 , p. 174). Although the pandemic brought pain to the world, it allowed, in the Renacer project, that students from two neighboring countries could learn more about their idiosyncrasies and history.
